The Metaphor Series
The Metaphor Series is a set of 3 images depicting idyllic natural scenes. Each is individually hand-stamped in acrylics with the “METAPHOR” motif across the centre.
There is something about idyllic natural imagery which can be rather unsettling. It seems that the only place you find these kind of images is either in religious posters which employ the countryside as a manifesto for the afterlife or proof of intelligent design, or on the walls of drab offices, subtitled with abstract nouns designed to extract maximum productivity. The Metaphor Series is a reaction to this kind of heavy-handed symbolism.
